You sit at your desk, absentmindedly spinning a globe with your right
hand. You sit, growing angrier and angrier, spinning the globe faster
and faster.
How I hate this planet, you
think to yourself. Everything about it absolutely disgusts me. Your
frustrations finally reaching a peak, you let loose a furious scream,
at the same time smashing the globe beneath your fist. You feel much
better now.
However, smashing that globe
has given you an idea. If destroying that tiny, fake planet helped give
you clarity of mind, just imagine how you’d feel doing it for
real.
But is it really necessary
to destroy the whole planet? After all, it’s mainly the people
on it that cause you the most problems. Why not just kill them, and
leave their real-estate right where it’s always been.
On the other hand, all this
nonspecific anger cannot possibly be good for you. Perhaps you should
focus that anger down to a single target. That would not only make things
easier, but it might be more fulfilling when you finally succeed.
• Will
you destroy the planet?
• Will you kill the human populace?
• Will you kill your worst enemy?
