You’ve always felt that research was for stuck-up scientists and total sissies. You’re not going to waste your time doing any sort of research. You’re just going to keep trying to summon some demons until you get it right.

You begin by copying a ritual you saw in a movie this one time. First, you draw a pentagram on the floor. Then, you light a bunch of candles and put them all around the room. But now, what comes next?

You snap your fingers as you suddenly remember. You need to sacrifice something in the middle of the glyph. But what should you sacrifice? Hm… You always knew that you should keep some sacrificial victims around, just in case. Not that you didn’t try, of course. You had every intent of kidnapping a bunch of virgins for just such an occasion. Unfortunately, after several weeks of looking, you determined that virgins were just a legend, and you gave up. And now you still don’t have any around to sacrifice. There must be another option.

You go into your closet and pull out an old chest. You blow the inches of dust off of the lid and read the label. It says “Potential Sacrificial Victims.” Opening the chest, you find that it contains both a duck and a piece of toast. Well, now that you have your two victims, which will you use as your offering?
